Further to the 172nd Annual General Meeting of the Mauritius Chamber of Agriculture held on Thursday 12th of June 2025, the composition of the new Bureau for the period 2025-2026 is as follows:

Profile of Mr. Patrick Lagesse
Mr. Lagesse serves as the Managing Director of Medine Agriculture, bringing with him an extensive background in the agricultural sector that spans over three decades. His career has been marked by significant roles, including his role as the Technical Director at Sucrivoire, part of the SIFCA Group, in Ivory Coast. This position allowed him to improve his expertise in agricultural management and technical operations, contributing to the advancement of the industry in the region. His leadership experience is further complemented by his previous senior roles at Alteo Ltd, where he played an important role in the adoption of innovative farming practices and the implementation of precision agriculture technologies.
Patrick Lagesse’s holds a bachelor degree in Agricultural Exploitation and Related Sciences from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. Additionally, he has earned an Executive master’s in business administration with a focus on Management from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
His career track includes various significant positions, starting as an Assistant Manager at Elegant Flowers Ltd, a subsidiary of Shell Mauritius Ltd, from January 1992 to February 1994. He then transitioned to Illovo Sugar Africa, where he worked as an Agronomist from March 1994 to June 2000. Following this, he served as an Agronomist and Agricultural Manager at Alteo Limited until February 2021. After his role at Sucrivoire from March 2021 to June 2022, he took on the position of Managing Director of Agriculture at Medine Group.
Patrick Lagesse has been a member of the Bureau since 2022. He held office as second Vice- President of the Mauritius Chamber of Agriculture during the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 mandates.
Mr. Lagesse has been elected as President of the Mauritius Chamber of Agriculture for the year 2025-2026, on the 12th of June 2025.
